This set of maps allows you to view the extent of racial/ethnic disproportionality in exclusionary disciplinary actions (i.e., suspensions and expulsions) and special education identification with Emotional/Behavioral Disorder (EBD) across the state of Wisconsin. Use the drop-down menus to select a racial/ethnic group of interest and an outcome of interest, and you can see - at the school district level - whether that group is more likely to have that outcome than peers of other racial/ethnic groups. For example, if you select "Black" and "Suspension", the map shows whether Black students in each district are more or less likely than students of all other racial/ethnic groups combined to be suspended.
Hover your mouse over a particular district to view the data for that district.
Technical note: the comparisons presented in this map are risk ratios of the racial/ethnic group of interest compared to all other racial ethnic groups combined. Lower risk refers to risk ratios of less than 0.80; similar risk refers to risk ratios greater than or equal to 0.80 and less than 1.20; moderately higher risk refers to risk ratios greater than or equal to 1.20 and less than 2.0; higher risk refers to risk ratios greater than or equal to 2.0.
